Guide To Your Day Out In Murwillumbah NSW

Murwillumbah @visitmurwillumbah is such a beautiful, quirky & cute town located on Bundjalung Country in Northern NSW & it’s truly the heart of the Tweed Valley. The towns tourism is booming year by year & the local community including myself would love to see you here!

I have created this short guide to help you plan your day out in town on a Saturday!

8:30am: Start off by having a delicious breakfast at one of the many cafes including Keith, Relish & Wild Thyme Dining.

10am: It’s time to explore the town & go shopping! I usually start off with M|Arts Precinct (the creative hub of Murwillumbah) where you can find amazing artists creating & selling their beautiful work. Artists include Jo from Jo Norton Ceramics, Nayana from The Wild Woods Studio, Lisa from Funky Bunny Designs, Karen from Beka Ceramics, just to name a few.

Don’t forget to also check out Kat Harvey’s delicious cheese shop & the most beautiful linen store The Bespoke Linen Co that’s owned by Melise Smith.

If you’re in town on the third Saturday of the month, you can find the Makers & Finders Market that is located in Knox Park (directly opposite M|Arts Precinct).

Murwillumbah is filled with many fabulous boutiques from women’s fashion Firelilee, Cicada by Ayliah, Echora, men’s fashion Bolt and Buckle to gifts & home ware Bowerbird Emporium, Eden Place, Paradise Living Co & The Foundry. We also have a metaphysical & ritual supplies store Victorian Goddess, a Persian rug store The Rug Jungle & a knitting store Knit Happens (right next to Keith), just to name a few.

While you’re exploring the town, you can pick up a coffee & a treat at The Woods Coffee (they also have a juice bar at the back) or Old Quarter Coffee Merchants

12:30pm: It’s time for lunch! There are endless options on where you can eat lunch but if you’re looking to get away from the town center & looking for a place to relax & enjoy views of Mt Wollumbin & the Tweed River passing by, you will not be disappointed at Tweed River House & Apex Dining (inside the Tweed Regional Gallery) both located in South Murwillumbah.

2pm: The perfect time to walk around & visit our galleries & museums including Tweed Regional Gallery, Small Works Gallery & Tweed Regional Museum.

4pm: You’re most likely in need of a drink or 2 right about now & that’s where you can head back to M|Arts Precinct & find a bar with live music or you can head to the one & only pink pub The Imperial Hotel.

If hanging out at a bar isn’t your thing, you can sit back, relax & watch one of the latest movies at our beautiful art deco movie theatre Regent Cinema.

6pm: It’s dinner time & you cannot go wrong with where you choose to eat such as at Bistro Livi, Johnny Franco’s Place & Barrels Pizza.

Your day out in town is coming to an end & it’s time to reflect on your wonderful trip while devouring in award-winning gelato at Gelato & Co.

Thank you so much for taking out the time to read this blog post of my beautiful hometown & I hope to see you in this part of the world very soon!
